The research concerns the area of the tollbooth “Terre di Canossa – Campegine”, with the definition of alternative settings and criteria and regulations for an urban transformation which is coherent with the context of landscape, efficient on a functional, compositional level and on the sustainability of the environment.

Costruire il paesaggio: 10+1 istruzioni per l'uso

On 30th October 2010 the Landscape Biennalia presented the book “Costruire il paesaggio: 10+1 istruzioni per l’uso” (Building the landscape:10+1 instructions for use) , research carried out by the Milan Polytechnic (Piacenza centre). The book proposes a planned route for further scale passages, from the territorial context to the architecture. The project is not guided by compositional pre-establishedrules, but rather by an attitude of greater sensitivity to the surroundingspace and environment.

In Fidenza a new presentation of the book “Luigi Ghirri. Lezioni di fotografia” (“Photography Lessons”)

On Saturday 30th October at 6 p.m. in “LA VECCHIA TALPA” bookshop (in Via Gramsci, 39 Fidenza PR) there is an important appointment for photography fans: Paolo Barbaro (editor of the book and historian of photography) and Giulio Bizzarri (editor of the book and expert in communication, as well as being a member of the scientific Committee of the Landscape Biennial) will present the volume “LUIGI GHIRRI: Lezioni di fotografia” (Photography Lessons) (ed. Quodlibet).

"The village is global but invisible"

On Saturday 9th October 2010 "Tuttolibri" of the daily newspaper "La Stampa" published an interview by Andrea Corellessa of the geographer Franco Farinelli, who is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Landscape Biennial. In the period in which the "Net" has eliminated space and time, Farinelli hopes for the return to the maps, the best tools to understand how the world works.

Between Land and Water: biodiversity of the Reggiana Plain. Images and sounds

From 4th to 10th October 2010, the imposing building of the Chiavica of Boretto will be animated with images and sounds. The large internal hall will indeed become a support space for the projection on the walls of photographs participating in the first competition entitled “Between land and water: biodiversity of the Reggiana plain”, called by the Orientated Natural Reserve Fontanili of Corte Valle Re with the Consorzio di Bonifica (drainage authority) of Central Emilia, the Municipality of Campegine, IREN and in collaboration with the Municipality of Canossa, the Province of Reggio Emilia and the Emilia Romagna Region.

"Extraripas 919": on Thursday 7th October in Gualtieri the next appointment of the programme "Un Po"

On Thursday 7th October 2010 (with repeats on 8th, 9th and 10th October) “Extraripas 919. Storie galleggianti per teatro allagato” (Stories floating around a flooded theatre) will go on at the Social Theatre in Gualtieri: four actors on stage, a boat, an accordion and lots of water. Behind all this, lots of documentation work to collect the direct voices from the flooding of the Po River in 1951. A performance by the Social Theatre Company in Gualtieri.

Angelo Davoli - Cantiere Morini Project

From 24th September to 30th October 2010 Angelo Davoli is exhibiting a selection of photographs and projects linked to the Morini Quarry, a video-installation highly connected to the “Certe Notti” dance performance and a new inedited very large painting, at the “dieffe arte contemporanea” gallery in Turin. Opening on Thursday, September 23rd.

No Man's Land: l'Ezio Bosso Trio a Gualtieri

Musica e territorio per un evento unico: il trio del grande musicista italiano e le immagini della grande alluvione del 1951 che colpì Gualtieri, al Teatro Sociale di Gualtieri, giovedì 2 settembre alle 21,30. Un'anteprima della rassegna "Un Po", che anche quest'anno, nel mese di ottobre, proporrà spettacoli, concerti e letture nei comuni che si affacciano sul Fiume Po.

International Symposium - Geography, stories, landscapes for a changing Italy.

A meeting will be held on Monday 28th June 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Alcide Cervi Institute – Emilio Sereni Library- Archive, on geopolitics understood as geographical knowledge applied to politics and history. A geography, which “helps” the politics of the landscape and international relations. A sort of test of the space and environmental values of the territory, of their direction and changes over time, to be compared with historically determining and socially relative conditions.

Torneo del paesaggio (Landscape Tournament)

The Italian National Trust for the Environment (FAI) and the Free University for Languages and Communication IULM are launching an important new national project dedicated to the high school for the 2010/2011 school year: the first edition of the “Landscape Tournament”, an initiative which enjoys the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO and the Italia 150 Committee and which proposes to awaken the interest of young people in the extraordinary Italian heritage.
