A welcome return of Giovanni Lindo Ferretti within the TraMonti musical and cultural season. On Monday 2nd August in Piazza della Luna in Castelnovo ne’ Monti, Ferretti will present his latest book entitled “Beautiful people of the Apennines”. Starting at 9 p.m.

An important appointment of the TraMonti festival: on Sunday 1st August, the performance by Clara Graziano & Circo Diatonico will take place in the beautiful spectacular setting of the Enel power station in Ligonchio. Special guests will be Mario Incudine and Nino Frassica in an original production entitled “L’acqua è poca e la papera non galleggia “ (There’s not much water and the duck doesn’t float). Starting at 9.30 p.m.

A meeting will be held on Monday 28th June 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Alcide Cervi Institute – Emilio Sereni Library- Archive, on geopolitics understood as geographical knowledge applied to politics and history. A geography, which “helps” the politics of the landscape and international relations. A sort of test of the space and environmental values of the territory, of their direction and changes over time, to be compared with historically determining and socially relative conditions.

This year is an important birthday for the Mundus festival which has been active for 15 years and in this 2010 edition 8 Municipalities in the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Modena will be participating with a programme of 36 concerts from 26th June to 15th August.

From 3rd to 5th and from 10th to 12th September at the Greppi Palace in Santa Vittoria di Gualtieri there will be a celebration of Lambrusco wine in all its diverse declinations. In the environment of the prestigious historical palace you will be able to taste typical local dishes and the different varieties of Lambrusco Reggiano for six whole days…

From 30th May until the end of September, there will be a series of paths and appointments towards the understanding of biodiversity on the websites of Rete Natura 2000 in Reggio Emilia territory, completely free. The calendar of the initiatives for 2010 (International Year of Biodiversity) wants to promote the understanding of the areas of Rete Natura 2000 through the Education of Sustainability and the diffusion of a new concept of safeguarding nature able to capture the opportunities that arise.

The film "Waterways" will continue to be shown in Reggio Emilia and in the surrounding provinces, within the framework of the Landscape Biennial’s activity programme. There will be two dates open to the public, organised near "World water day" (Monday 22 March), established by the UN in 1992.

The concepts of moderation, temperance and composure will be addressed on March 5, 6 and 13 in the Cloister of Voltorre in Gavirate, in the province of Varese, during a conference, workshops and artistic projects. These qualities are certainly far removed from others that are valued in today's world, but are useful to re-establish a harmonious relationship with oneself, others, the community and nature. A project conceived and developed by Distretto Rurale in collaboration with the Apriticielo Association.

"Water is a precious commodity the equity, quality and availability of which must be guaranteed by public authorities: the Province will continue its commitment in guaranteeing these principles through concrete actions and by recognizing them in its Statute”. This is what the president of the Province, Sonia Masini, said in her intervention at the conclusion of the extraordinary Council which was open to the public with the theme water held on 11th January at Palazzo Allende.
